Mission Statement
To Promote public awareness of the history and culture of the Arabic-speaking world, the richness of its music and the beauty of its dances, through Lecture/Demonstrations, performance programs and structured teaching programs.
To Entertain the general public by presenting professional dance concerts and dance programs with trained and accomplished dancers, traditional music and authentic costuming.
To Encourage positive interaction, through Dance, with local communities in celebration of music, movement and design.
Organized as 501(c)(3) non-profit Dance Company in 1997, AALIM Dance Company supports three Performance dance troupes: Desert Starz, Calla (Tribal Starz) and Kumpania (Gypsy Starz)
Classes: Classes currently offered in Oklahoma City (23rd and Meridian); Edmond (UCO); and Norman (OU)
2009 Performance Venues: Opening Night, Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts; Oklahoma State Fair, Rose State College Globalfest; India Festival, Italian Festival, Sooner-Con, Celebration Fairs Renaissance Fair (MWC)
Nightlife: Weekly “Arabian Nights” Bellydance Shows at Zorba's Mediterranean Cuisine; Gopuram-Taste of India; Kush Hookah Lounge; Club Albee/Bricktown; Maazin's Hookah Lounge/Ada; Khazana Indian Grill; Shookah Lounge (Sinbads Restaurant and Hookah Lounge) and Moe's Hookah Bar.
“Hire a Bellydancer”: AALIM Princesses available for all your entertainment needs, Birthday Parties, Wedding, Anniversary or Retirement Parties. Specialty Options include “Bellybutton” parties (Children’s Birthday Parties, including costume dress-up options). Bachelorette Parties and “Learn to Bellydance” Parties for a fun activity on Girls’ Nite Out.
